New Building and Renovation Project

Some portions of the current HealthSource Saginaw building were constructed in the late 1920s and early 1930s. Other areas were added during the 1940s through the 60s. HealthSource presently has 319 licensed beds consisting of: 38 Medical Rehabilitation and 27 Chemical Dependency beds; 41 inpatient psychiatric beds and 213 long term care beds. Construction of our approximately 169,310 square feet of new patient/resident/client care facilities and renovation of up to an additional 47,630 of existing square feet is underway. All patient care areas and related support functions will occupy a one story building while maintaining the existing 319 bed capacity.
In August of 2004, Saginaw County voters passed a $35,000,000 millage to make this project possible. The project is scheduled in 8 phases that will span over a three year period.
- Completion of Phase 1 included the construction of a new mechanical room including installation of new heating and cooling units, a new 40 X 80 maintenance/storage garage, a new parking lot and related site work.

- Phase 5 will relocate patients from existing to newly constructed areas completed in Phase 4. Phase 5 also includes demolition of our existing central resident wing, existing psychiatric wing and office portion of the existing South building.
