Extended Care Center

(Basic and Skilled Nursing Care)

Residents will find expert attention in a home-like setting at HealthSource Saginaw's Extended Care Center (founded in 1930). The Center has 213 licensed beds.  Our Extended Care program helps residents achieve maximum quality of life.  During the year ended December 31, 2006, HealthSource provided 64,334 days of nursing home care.

Basic Care:  Services are designed for residents of various ages who are no longer able to care for themselves at home and/or who need long-term assistance. Program participants benefit from the team's specialization in restorative care and a very busy activity schedule including bingo, dining activities and holiday celebrations.

Skilled Care:  Services are designed for residents who require short-term care.  Residents receive services such as physical, occupational and speech therapy as well as more specialized nursing services designed to restore them to meaningful lifestyles following surgery, accidents, or other life altering events.

Other on-site services include chapel, barber and beauty, pharmacy, dental and gift shop.  Coming in 2008 upon the completion of our Building and Renovation Project, we will offer additional services of a coffee/ice cream parlor and movie theater.
